Denmark
We took the ICE (InterCity Express) train from Germany to Denmark. This is a high speed train capable of reaching 300km/h (186mph). We were on a short run from Lubeck north to the coast, so we never hit full speed, but according to the read-out in our car, we did hit 225km/h (140mph). It was a smooth ride because they weld all the rail sections to make one long continuous rail. At the coast, a waiting ferry opened up and the train drove into the belly of the ship! It was a short cruise across the Baltic Sea, then the ship released us and we were in Denmark. It didn't take long before we were in Copenhagen. Unfortunately, this was as far into Denmark as we had time for.
